Orchid Species: Dracula chimaera

Dracula chimaera is an orchid species identified by (Rchb.f.) Luer in 1978.
ORIGIN: A medium sized, cool to cold growing, terrestrial, lithophytic or epiphytic, Colombian and Ecuadorian species from elevations of 1400 to 2450 meters in cloud forests.
DESCRIPTION: A medium sized, cool to cold growing, terrestrial, lithophytic or epiphytic, Colombian and Ecuadorian species from elevations of 1400 to 2450 meters in cloud forests with clustered stems subtended by 2 to 3 loose sheaths carrying a single, apical, erect, narrowly oblanceolate leaves that blooms in the late autumn through winter on a pendant, 6 to 24 [15 to 60 cm] long inflorescence with tubular bracts that carries up to 6 single flowers borne in succession and require even well watered conditions year round.
FLOWER SIZE: To 9 inches [to 22.5 cm]
