Eulophia grandiflora is an orchid species identified by Lindl. in 1833. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Eulophia bracteosa.
ORIGIN: Found in northern Guangdong, northeast Guangxi and southeast Yunnan Provinces of China as well as Assam, Bangladesh and Myanmar along valleys and in scrubby grasslands in sunny locations at elevations of 400 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with subterranean, transversly ellipsoid pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 3, present at blooming, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, papery, acuminate, contracted below into the cuneate, elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring through early summer on an erect, 18 to 28 [45 to 80 cm] long, racemose to rarely paniculate, subdensely to densely 8 to 16 flowered inflorescence with several, scattered, amplexicaul sheaths and linear-lanceollate, membraneous, exceeding the ovary in length, acuminate floral bracts.
