DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with subterranean, ovoid, chain-forming tubers giving rise to 2 to 6, narrowly linear, acuminate, grass-like leaves that are absent or just beginning to appear at blooming in the spring and early summer on a laxly to fairly densely several to many flowered inflorescence almost completely enveloped by 4 to 5, papery bracts and has scarious, linear, acuminate floral bracts.
