ORIGIN: Found in New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Fiji, Samoa and Vanuatu in montane forests at elevations of 400 to 2100 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with somewhat rigid, slightly compressed, leafy stems enveloped completely by leaf-bearing sheaths carrying erect, ligulate or linear-ligulate, strongly unequally and obtusely bilobulate, glabrous leaves that blooms in the fall on a nodding, capitate, subglobose inflorescence with broad apiculate bracts and hyaline floral bracts carrying glabrous flowers.
