ORIGIN: Found in Minas Gerais Brazil at elevations of 800 to 1200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing lithophyte with obclaviform, reddish pseudobulbs carrying 1 to rarely 2, apical, coriaceous, recurved, elliptic-elongate, dark purple below, acute, gradually narrowing below into the clasping base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, 16 [40 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe.
