Orchid Species: Jumellea spathulata

Jumellea spathulata is an orchid species identified by (Ridl.) Schltr. in 1925.
ORIGIN: Found in central to southeastern Madagascar.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized epiphyte or lithophyte on rocky outcrops in forests with a thick stem carrying several, thick, unequally obtusely bilobed apically, lingulate leaves and blooms in the late summer and early fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence enveloped basally by 3 to 4 sheaths and has fragrant flowers.
