ORIGIN: Found in northeastern Brazil in the state of Bahia in the Chapada da Diamantina at elevations around 1100 to 1700 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing lithophyte from the side of rocks in full sun with cylindrical to fusiform pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical erect, coriaceous, linear-elliptic, acute, basally conduplicate leaf that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, 12 to 28 [30 to 70 cm] long, racemose, few to several [10] flowered inflorescence with the successive, well-spaced flowers opening over several weeks.
