ORIGIN: Found in Brazil.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte, with a solitary leaf, on tall trees in full sun from lower elevations around the bay of Bahia with clavate-fusiform, compressed, narrowing towards the base pseudobulb carrying a single, apical, oblong-lanceolate, rigid, obtuse leaf that blooms in the spring and summer in cultivation and fall in the wild on an erect, 12 to 15 [30 to 37.5 cm] long, 2 to 5 flowered raceme with a few fragrant or not, short-lived flowers arising through a compressed spathe.
