ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica and Colombia at elevations around 1100 to 1400 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with clustered, ellipsoid, compressed, becoming grooved and wrinkled with age pseudobulbs subtended by papery sheaths and carrying a single, lanceolate, sessile, acute leaf that blooms in the winter on 1.2 [3 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with flowers that smell slightly of melon rind.
