ORIGIN: Found in southwestern Mexico in Jalisco, Guerrero and Michoacan at elevations of 1500 to 2200 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or lithophyte with closely spaced, clump forming, slender, broader at the base, tapering towards the apex, somewhat laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped partially at the base by several, distichous, imbricating, somewhat triangular, acute, thin, uppermost leaf bearing sheaths carrying 2 erect, to somewhat arching, leathery, linear to strap-shaped, acute, flat becoming conduplicate towards the base leaves that blooms in the mid winter and spring on a stiff, suberect, basal, along the axils of the sheaths, laterally compressed, to 8 [20 cm] long, rachis to 3 [7.5 cm] long, racemose, to 7 flowered inflorescence.
