Orchid Species: Oncidium abruptum

Oncidium abruptum is an orchid species identified by Linden & Rchb.f. ex Kraenzl. in H.G.A.Engler (ed.) in 1922.
ORIGIN: Found in western Colombia and Ecuador at 650 to 1400 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with narrowly ovate, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulbs carrying oblong, acute, conduplicate below to form a petiole-like base leaves and blooms on a basal, paniculate, 32 to 5' 4 [80 to 160 cm] long, 15 to 20 branched, arcuate to nodding, many flowered, twining and flexuous, inflorescence with widely spaced flowers.
FLOWER SIZE: 1.2 to 1.6 inches [3 to 4 cm]
