ORIGIN: Occuring in Antioquia Colombia at elevations of 700 to 2300 meters at the edges of lower montane forests.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, warm to cold growing plant with an ovoid-elliptic, sulcate, laterally compressed pseudobulb subtended by several leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 apical, oblong-elliptic to narrowly oblong, distinctly petiolate, acute to obtuse leaves that blooms in the summer through fall on a basal, sub-erect, to 4' [120 cm] tall, racemose, several [4 to 12] flowered inflorescence with large, fragrant, waxy, long-lasting flowers.
