ORIGIN: Found in Mexico, Guatemala and Costa Rica in forests at elevations of 1700 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool growing epiphyte with to 1.2 [3 cm] between each egg-shaped, laterally compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb enveloped partially below by several, distichous, overlapping, sheaths with the uppermost leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2, apical, erect spreading, thin, hard, stiff, broadly elliptic to elliptic-oblong, obtuse, narrowing below into the conduplicate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary, racemose to paniculate, weak, straggly, to 39 [100 cm] long, laxly few to several flowered inflorescence arising on a recently matured pseudobulb and has ovate to lanceolate, acute, concave, thin, dry floral bracts.
