Pleurothallis cingens is an orchid species identified by Ames & C.Schweinf. in 1930. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Acianthera pantasmi.
ORIGIN: Found in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Ecuador at elevations of 100 to 1500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with slender, erect, sharply three winged, gradually broader towards the leaf ramicaul enveloped by 2 to 3 thin, tubular sheaths at the base and carrying a single, apical, erect, thinly coriaceous, narrowly ovate, acute, sessile base with the margins continuous with the wings of the ramicaul that blooms in the winter on a congested, .4 [1 cm] long, simultaneously 2 to 4 flowered inflorescence arising through a spathe at the apex of the ramicaul.
