Orchid Species: Pleurothallis duplex

Pleurothallis duplex is an orchid species identified by Luer & R.Escobar in 1983.
ORIGIN: This species is endemic to Norte de Santander on the easrtern side of the eastern cordillera. This plant was photographed in the Valley de Sibundoy which is hundreds of miles south of Norte de Santander but it is still the eastern side of the eastern cordillera.
DESCRIPTION: Luer states that this species is unique in the genus for the winged column, he also states that Pths. duplex has a pair of triangular lobes towards the base of the lip. Luer has the colors as light yellow for the petals and sepals and the lip as white, he states that this species is endemic to Norte de Santander on the easrtern side of the eastern cordillera. This plant was photographed in the Valley de Sibundoy which is hundreds of miles south of Norte de Santander but it is still the eastern side of the eastern cordillera.
