ORIGIN: Found in Colombia at elevations of 2500 to 2700 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 close, tubular sheaths and another below the middle carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute leaf that has a broadly cuneate to rounded and sessile base that blooms in the spring and fall on a loose, distichous, simultaneously several flowered, 4 3/4 to 8 [12 to 20 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising from a reclining spathe and having thin, infundibular floral bracts.
