ORIGIN: Found in Florida, The Bahamas, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, branching, slender, woody, jointed stem carrying 1 to 5, plicate, strongly veined, alternate, green, membraneous, elliptic-lanceolate leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, 10 to 60 flowered paniculate raceme carrying widely spreading, successively opening flowers.
