ORIGIN: This unifoliate species is found in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in mangroves, scrub forests and pinelands on trees, or as a lithophyte or terrestrial on cliff walls at elevations of sea level to 1100 meters.

DESCRIPTION: This unifoliate species is found in Haiti and the Dominican Republic in mangroves, scrub forests and pinelands on trees, or as a lithophyte or terrestrial on cliff walls at elevations of sea level to 1100 meters and is a small to large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte and occasional lithophyte, terrestrial with slender-ovoid pseudobulbs carrying 2 apical, coriaceous, linear-lanceolate, to ligulate, acute, erose dentate marginally leaves that blooms on a terminal, to 28 [70 cm] long, erect, branching, capitate, successively to 18 flowered inflorescence with sweetly fragrant, 3/8 flowers in the spring and summer and can rebloom out of old or damaged spikes.
