ORIGIN: Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 1700 to 2400 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped by 7 to 11, imbricating, ribbed, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, thickly coriaceous, elliptical, subacute, cuneate below into the sub-petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring summer and fall on a fascile of .1 to .15 [2 to 3 mm] long, successive single flowered inflorescence arising from below the apex of the ramicaul.
