Orchid Species: Scaphyglottis mesocopis

Scaphyglottis mesocopis is an orchid species identified by (Endrés & Rchb.f.) Benth. & Hook.f. ex Hemsl. in 1883.
ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica and Panama at elevations around 800 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with cylindric to fusiform, commonly stipitate, superposed pseudobulbs carrying 1 to 2, apical, linear, obtuse, usually bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the winter and early spring on a fascile or much abbreviated racemose, apical, few flowered inflorescence arising at the apex of the segments of the stem.
