ORIGIN: Chihuahua, Jalisco, Michoacan, Guerrero, Mexico, District federal, Quintana Roo, Tlax, Oaxaca, Puebla, Hidalgo states of Mexico as well as Guatemala on humid slopes and rocks, grassy places, bluffs, pine/fir forests at elevations of 2200 to 3800 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial as a slender, glabrous plant with 1 to 3, basal or in the lower part of the stem, linear-lanceolate, acute, petiolate leaves that blooms in the fall and winter on an erect, terminal, 2 to 4 flowered, pubescent inflorescence with sessile flowers that stand at right angles to the stem.
