ORIGIN: Found in the Comoros Islands, Mauritius, Reunion, India, Sri Lanka; Myanmar, Borneo, Java, Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaysia, the Philippines and Sumatra on mossy trees at elevations of 800 to 1750 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with compressed pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, linear-lanceolate, acute leaf that is much wider that the leaf of L gibbosa and blooms in the fall on a basal, 9.6 [to 24 cm] long, compressed, successively several flowered with 2 to 3 open at any one time inflorescence that gradually lengthens with each flowers appearance.
