Zosterophyllanthos peculiaris is an orchid species identified by (Luer) Szlach. & Marg. in 2001. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Pleurothallis peculiaris.
ORIGIN: Found in Panama in cloud forests at elevations of 700 to 1300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 shorter tubular sheaths and a longer one below the middle and carrying a single, apical acutely deflexed, dull green, indistinctly purple spotted, coriaceous, narrowly cordate-ovate, acuminate and curved above the middle, basally sessile and deeply cordate with incurved lobes leaf that blooms on a fascile of successive single flowered inflorescence arising through an erect to suberect, conduplicate spathe and has a nonresupinate flower held close against the leaf base.
