ORIGIN: From tropical western and central Africa in forests, woodland and thickets, as well as on cultivated crops such as coffee and cocoa to elevations of 700 meters.

DESCRIPTION: This small sized, hot to warm growing, epiphytic species has short to 8 long stems carrying, 4 to 12, obovate, unequally bilobed apically, fleshy or leathery, dull green leaves with black spots that blooms in the spring and summer on an axillary, 4 to 16 [10 to 40 cm] long, pendant or arching raceme that carries from 2 to 20, waxy, fragrant, long-lived flowers. This species requires high humidity and can be grown in a pot with a bark mix or mounted on cork or treefern and provided moderate shade.
