ORIGIN: This is a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid found from south Florida through the Caribbean to Trinidad, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil at elevations of 400 to 1000 meters alongside streams in semi-deciduous forests.

DESCRIPTION: This is a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial orchid found from south Florida through the Caribbean to Trinidad, Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil at elevations of 400 to 1000 meters alongside streams in semi-deciduous forests with 1 or 2, elongate, thin, oblong-lanceolate, purply green, ventrally brown spotted, petiolate base leaves that are rarely present at blooming, occurring in late winter and spring on a 3' 4 [1 meter] long, erect, pubescent, racemose, loosely few to several [15] flowered inflorescence that has basal sheaths and carrying fragrant flowers.
