ORIGIN: Found in southwestern China, Assam, Nepal, Sikkim, Myanmar and Thailand in thickets along streams at elevations of 1220 to 2800 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with clustered, stout, elongate, cylindric pseudobulbs carrying 4 to 6, unequal, broadly lanceolate to ovate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on an axillary from the lowest leaf, peduncle to 13.6 [34 cm] long, pubescent, with 2 to 3 clasping, lanceolate, acuminate, sterile sheathing bracts, rachis to 6.4 [16 cm] long, 14.4 to 20 [36 to 50 cm] long, laxly to 8 flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate, acuminate, persistent floral bracts.
