ORIGIN: Found in the eastern Himalayas, Assam, Thailand, Malaysia, Java, Borneo, Moluccas, Sulawesi, Sumatra, south central China, Cambodia and Vietnam in shady, broad-leaved, evergreen and coniferous, lowland, submontane and montane forests on shale, sandstone, granite, gneiss, rhyolite and quartzite at elevations of 250 to 1700 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with an erect, densely leafy stem carrying ovate to linear, gradually narrowing towards the apex, apically spiked leaves that blooms in the spring on a terminal and axillary, few branching, horizontal to pendulous, 4 [10 cm] long, flattened, to 12 flowered inflorescence.
