ORIGIN: Found in Guangdong and Hainan China, Hong Kong, Assam, Eastern Himalayas, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Borneo, Java, Malaysia, Philipines, Sulawesi and Sumatra at elevations of sea-level to 2000 meters in humid lowland, primary evergreen, broad leafed forests.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte or lithophyte on limestone outcroppings with an elongate, slightly zig-zag, erect, unbranched stem enveloped end to end by basally clasping, elliptic-oblong, distichous, bilobed, acute leaves and blooms in the summer and fall from a terminal and lateral, 1 1/4 [3 cm] long, several [4 to 10] flowered inflorescence with long-oval, very concave floral bracts carrying close set flowers, each having a leaf-like bract and they yellow with age.
