ORIGIN: Found in Minas Gerais Brazil at elevations around 220 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte with ovate-tetragonal, sulcate, dull yellow pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, yellow green, erect-spreading, coriaceous, oblong, apiculate, attenuate and canaliculate below into the base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, erect, rigid, 10 to 12.8 [25 to 32 cm] long, green below becoming dark red above, enveloped by membraneous, amplexicaul, dull yellow bracts, abruptly curved at the junction of the peduncle and rachis, rachis to 4 [10 cm] long, simultaneously 3 to 4, successively to 15 flowered inflorescence with persistent, cream colored, triangular, acute floral bracts.
