ORIGIN: This small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial is found in south Fujian, south Guangdong, south Guangxi, Hainan, southeastern Xizang, and southeastern Yunnan provinces of China, Hong Kong, Laos and Taiwan in dense forests or along valleys in damp rocky areas at elevations of 400 to 2000 meters.

DESCRIPTION: This small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial is found in south Fujian, south Guangdong, south Guangxi, Hainan, southeastern Xizang, and southeastern Yunnan provinces of China, Hong Kong, Laos and Taiwan in dense forests or along valleys in damp rocky areas at elevations of 400 to 2000 meters with well spaced, petiole like, terete pseudobulb with a long tubular sheath and carrying a single, ovate to oblong-lanceolate, thickly chartaceous, undulate margins, gradually narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on an erect, basal, terminal, racemose, laxly 4 to 9 flowered inflorescence with large showy flowers.
