ORIGIN: Found in Peru on the Amazon slope at elevations around 2250 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing lithophyte with a simple, cane-like, laterally compressed, somewhat thickened towards the middle, straight stems carrying 9, along the apical half, alternate, subcoriaceous, lanceolate, bilobed, with a low dorsal keel, glabrous, margin entire, articulate below into the base leaves that blooms in the later summer on a terminal, suberect, paniculate, laterally flattened, glabrous, to 90 flowered inflorescence with 3 slightly arching branches, the peduncle and branches provided with widely triangular, acute bracts and much shorter than the ovary, triangular, acute floral bracts and carrying simultaneously opening, resupinate flowers without color and fragrance data.
