ORIGIN: Found in central Peru at elevations of 1700 to 2600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Giant sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with simple, cane-likeerect, straight, thick stems carrying all along the stem numerous, articulate, distichous, subcoriaceous, narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, margin entire leaves that blooms in the winter through summer on a lateral, arising on a mature stem, opposite the leaf, racemose, erect-arching, peduncle enveloped almost completely by 4 to 5 acute, tubular bracts, 6 [15 cm] long, successively 20 to 25 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary, linear-triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers with the tepals and the column base green, the apex of the column and the lip white,, the calli of the lip and the disc of the lip purple and the splotch on the disc is darker and solid.
