ORIGIN: Found in Costa Rica in disturbed forests at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium to large sized, cool growing epiphyte with simple, erect, cane-like, terete, produced from the middle internode of the previous stem, straight stems and carrying 3 to 5, aggregate towards the apex, alternate, subcoriaceous, erect-spreading, oblong, acute, margin entire, articulate below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall though early summer on a terminal, occurring only once, racemose, rarely paniculate, arching, thin, ancipitose, straight, 8 to 12 flowered inflorescence with a lanceolate, acute bract and half as long as the ovary, triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying successively opening, weakly afternoon scented flowers.
