ORIGIN: Found in Luya Province Peru at elevations of 2700 to 3300 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Large sized, cold growing terrestrial with simple, cane-like, terete, thin, straight stems carrying 6 to 11, alternate, suberect, all along the stem, articulated, linear-elliptic, coriaeceous, green, apically rounded, mucronate-aristate, crenulate margined leaves taht blooms in the winter on a terminal, racemose, arching, peduncle short, terete, thin, slightly arched, rachis thin, terete, arching, densely and simultaneously to 12 flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary, triangular floral bracts and carryying rsupinate, bright orange-red, non fragrant flowers.
