ORIGIN: Found in Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru along the upper Amazon Basin as wel las the Pacific slope in Colombia and Ecuador at elevations of 600 to 2000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a monopodial, pendent, cane-like, newly arising from the intermediate nodes of the previous, terete, straight, tinged purple brown stem carrying a single persistent, to 3 on an immature growth, apical, pendent, articulate, dorsally green, ventrally purple red, linear-lanceolate, somewhat falcate, acuminate, margin entire leaf that blooms at most any time of the year on a terminal, racemose, short, peduncle subterete, with 2, tubular, acuminate, margin entire bracts, successively single, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescencen with much shorter than the ovary, narroiwly triangular, acute, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying resupinate, fleshy, lustrous, generally creamy brown to rarely greenish, generally tinged with pink flowers with a greenish brown tinged with pink towards the apex column and a creamy white lip.
