ORIGIN: Found in southern Ecuador on the Amazon slope of the Andes at elevations of 2300 to 2600 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, terte stems carrying 7 to 10, all along the stem, narrowly elliptic, acuminate, alternate, margin entire leaves that blooms in the spring and early summer on a terminal, paniculate, erect, peduncle 2.2 to 4.2 [5.5 to 10.5 cm] long, enveloped almost completely by 2 to 3, acuminate, conduplicate sheaths, without a spathe, on a mature growth, occurring only once, erect, 7.8 to 11.8 [19 to 29 cm] long, successively 2 to 4 per branch open,38 to 84 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying resupinate flowers with the sepals bronze-green, the petals pinkish white and the lip with a piurple spot in the center.
