ORIGIN: Found in Ecuador on the eastern slope of the Andes at elevations of 400 to 1600 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Medium sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte with simple, cane-like, erect, somewhat laterally compressed basally, ancipitose towards the apex stems enveloped basally by tubular, non-foliaceous sheaths and carrying 6 to 11, along the upper 2/3's of the stem, alternate, subcoriaceous, oblong-elliptic, entire marginally, acuminate, minutely apiculate, articulate below into the base leaves that blooms in the fall through spring on a terminal, racemose, laterally compressed, ancipitose, elongate, erect, 3 [7.5 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence which is pluriracemose or blooming for years out of the same peduncle, with 6 tubular, somewhat imbricating bracts and much shorter than the ovary, triangular, acute, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying non-fragrant flowers.
