ORIGIN: Found in Valle de Cauca department of Colombia on the western slope of the central Codillera in secondary, humid, cloud forests at elevations around 3500 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cold growing epiphyte with terete, new stem arising from subapical internode of the previous stem carrying 3, towards the apex, unequal in size, subcoriaceous, alternate, articulate, obovate-elliptic, obtuse, margin entire leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on a terminal, without a spathe, occurring only once, peduncle .64” [1.6 cm] long, terete, thin, straight, 2.16” [5.4 cm] long overall, successively few, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with half as long as the ovary, triangular, acuminate, amplexicaul floral bracts and carrying yellow, non fragrant flowers.
