ORIGIN: Found in central Peru on the western slope of the Andes at elevations of 2400 to 2850 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Miniature sized, cold growing lithophyte with simple, cane-like, terete, erecet stems carrying 3 aggregate towards the apex of the stems, alternate, coriaceous, elliptic, unequally bilobed apicallylow dorsal ekkl, margin entire, somewhat revolute leaves that blooms in the winter through spring on a terminal, arising through 1 to 2, tubular, conduplicate, imbricate, narrowly obovate, rounded, ancipitous spathes, erect, racemose, peduncle completely hidden within the spathe, rachis very short, terete, thin, simultaneously 3 flowered inflorescence with much shorter than the ovary, narrowly triangular, acuminate floral bracts and carrying non-resupinate, wine colored flowers .
