ORIGIN: Found in Guinea Bissau, Guinea, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Nigeria, Gulf Of Guinea Islands, Cameroon and Uganda in rainforests at elevations of 1200 to 1350 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with ovoid to ellipsoid tubers giving rise to an erect, delicate to rather stout, glabrous, leafy stem carrying 11 to 17, oblanceolate to obovate, apiculate, spreading, to upper 2 to 4 much smaller, bract-like lanceolate, acute leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 4 to 12 [10 to 30 cm] long, lax below dense above, many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts and carrying green sometimes tinged pink or brownish flowers.
