ORIGIN: Found in the the Chinese Himalayas, India, Bangladesh, the eastern Himalayas, Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand and the Philippines on open grassy, subalpine slopes at elevations of 3600 to 4900 meters.

DESCRIPTION: Mini-miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with ovoid-fusiform tubers giving rise to an erect stem carrying 2, opposite, broadly ovate-orbicular to weakly cordate, apiculate, sessile, translucent margined leaves that blooms in the summer and fall on an erect, minutely glandular-pubescent, .6 to 1.6 [1.5 to 4 cm] long, 4 to 6 flowered inflorescence with narrowly lanceolate, acuminate, glandular-pubescent margined, 5 veined floral bracts.
