ORIGIN: This is a Colombian, large sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte, terrestrial or lithophyte occcuring in cloud forests in the states of Santa Marta, Norte der Santander, Boyaca and Cunidinamarca with large, broadly cylindrical or oblong-ovoid, compressed, sulcate or rugose with age pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 3 apical, plicate, deciduous, long petiolate, oblong-elliptic or oblong-lanceolate, acute or acuminate leaves that blooms on an erect, to 7 [17.5 cm] long, inflorescence with several loose sheaths, giving rise to fragrant, waxy, long-lived flowers in the early spring and summer and can be located at elevations around 1200 to 2000 meters.
