ORIGIN: Found in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru in upper montane cloud forests at elevations around 1700 to 3000 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Small sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte or terrestrial on steep banks with narrowly ovate, ancipitous, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 to more pairs of leafless and leaf bearing sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, linear-lanceolate, acute or shortly acuminate, gradually long-narrowed below into the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall through spring on 1 to 2, axillary, from the base through a leaf sheath, slender, twining, much longer than the leaves, erect, to 22.4 [to 56 cm] long overall, peduncle to 12 [30 cm] long, with several very close bracts, arcuate, paniculate, very loose, zig zag, erect-ascending, shortly few branched, each branch few flowered, many flowered inflorescence .
