ORIGIN: Found in Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sumatra, Philippines and New Guinea at elevations of 1000 to 2800 meters in primary coniferous, mixed and broad-leaved, evergreen montane forests.
DESCRIPTION: Small to large sized, warm to cold growing terrestrial with an erect more or less robust stem carrying 1 to a few, cauline, sessile, imbricate, triangular, acute, basal, sheaths and and 1 to 2, above the sheaths, grading smaller above, sessile, ovate, acute leaves as well as 1 to 2, from the roots, petiolate, elliptic, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the mid winter through mid spring on a terminal, erect, rachis 6 [15 cm] long, more or less robust, few to many flowered inflorescence.
