Pleurothallis werneri is an orchid species identified by (Luer & Thoerle) J.M.H.Shaw in 1924. Culture information and photos for this orchid are commonly detailed under the currently accepted name of Pleurothallis deuterowerneri.
ORIGIN: Found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic or terrestrial herb at altitudes of 1200 to 3200 meters.
DESCRIPTION: Found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Peru as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphytic or terrestrial herb at altitudes of 1200 to 3200 meters with slender, terete ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3 spotted, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-ovate, apiculate, coriaceous, rounded basally and tridenticulate apically leaf that blooms in the winter and spring with a terminal, 6 to 10 [15 to 25 cm] long raceme held longer than the leaf with compressed basal sheath bracts and laxly few large, spidery flowers.
