DESCRIPTION: Found from Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Surinam, Guyana, French Guiana, northern Brazil, Dominican Republic, the Leewards, the Windward Islands and Trinidad and Tobago as a miniature to small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial herb at elevations of sea-level to 1100 meters that has tuberous roots with a slender, erect, flexuous, finely pubescent stem blooming in the spring on an erect, terminal, stout, 7 [17.5 cm] long, racemose, few to many flowered inflorescence with very small, resupinate flowers.
