A common aerosol insecticide spray is satisfactory; use Raid and stand back several feet from plants to be most effective; don11 use a commercial insect repellant because they damage buds and flowers. RMH; A85-99

Malathion, Diazinon, Cygon, Parathions are used for controls in Hawaii. P69(l)-ll

The easiest and least harmful way to clear buds is to rinse them with a mild solution of dish-washer soap (not detergent); a repeat may be necessary. A87-732; spraying on is easier than rinsing. RMH

The ingress of ants into the greenhouse can best be detected by means of sticky cards made of cardboard, etc., a foot square and painted yellow with the surface covered with Stickem, or simi lar adhesive, place them at strategic points and inspect them daily for signs of crawling or flying pests; can be cleaned with turpentine about monthly and used again. NZ87-65

Use Malathion, it does not harm pets. A73-503; use a systemic insecticide. OD122; use Piramor 5gr.:3 gal.;kills quickly.

Use Plantfume 103 smoke generator in late fall or any time they make an appearance. A77-105
