Smoke from a cigarette cannot transmit virus, the question is whether contact of the hand to cigarette tobacco then back to plant transmits live virus. A67-234

TOBACCO: As Insecticide Cigarette butts were collected, stripped of paper and the tobacco was placed in water approximately 12 butts to a gallon and was sprayed on orchids to combat aphids, mealy bugs, scale; apparently it produced nicotine sulfate; no comment on virus. NH75(2)-7 0
